Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Kautilya ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and services (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

  • Information you provide. Details you submit through forms, such as your name and email address when you contact us.
  • Account and connected-service data. When you sign in or connect a service (such as Google), we process the identity and authorization information needed to operate your account and the features you enable. See Section 14 (Google User Data) for details specific to Google.
  • Usage data. Basic, anonymized analytics about how the Service is used (pages visited, approximate region, device type).
  • Cookies. Small files used to operate and improve the Service. See our Cookie Policy.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To respond to enquiries and communicate with you.
  • To understand usage trends in aggregate.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal Bases

Where applicable law requires it, we process personal data on the basis of your consent, our legitimate interests in operating the Service, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Service, and where required by law. The service providers we rely on, and the information each may process, are described in Section 13 (Third-Party Services and Integrations).

5. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Google user data. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect Google user data against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. Google user data is retained only for as long as necessary to provide the relevant functionality, meet applicable legal obligations, maintain security, resolve disputes, or enforce applicable agreements. You may revoke Kautilya's access to Google services at any time through your Google account settings, and, where available, disconnect the Google Calendar integration within Kautilya. Following revocation, Kautilya will cease accessing the relevant Google service, subject to applicable legal or retention requirements.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at workwithamaagra@gmail.com.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.

11. Browser Extension

Our browser extension (the "Extension") is part of the Service. It lets you, once signed in, save a web page you're viewing or write a short note about it to your Kautilya account.

  • What it collects. When you sign in, we process your authentication details to establish a secure session. When you choose to save a page or send a note, the Extension records the active tab's URL and title (and your note text, if any) against your account.
  • Only on your action. The Extension reads the active tab's information only when you explicitly save a page or send a note. It does not track your browsing in the background or read pages you don't choose to capture.
  • Local storage. The Extension stores your session and a small local list of pages you've already saved in your browser, so you stay signed in and avoid duplicates.
  • Who we share with. The same as the rest of the Service (Section 4): we don't sell your data; we use service providers (our authentication provider and backend) only to operate the Extension.

You can sign out from the Extension at any time to clear its local session.

13. Service Providers

Kautilya works with a small number of trusted third-party providers to operate the Service. They process information only to the extent needed to perform their function for us, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. These providers support:

  • Authentication and identity — signing you in and maintaining your session, including Google and Apple sign-in and the Google Calendar authorization you grant.
  • Hosting and data storage — running the website and application and storing your account data and content.
  • AI features — powering the assistant, drafting, and related features. Our AI providers do not train their models on data submitted through their commercial APIs.
  • Payments — processing in-app purchases and subscriptions through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
  • Analytics and diagnostics — understanding usage and diagnosing errors to keep the Service reliable.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with these providers for any purpose other than operating the Service.

14. Google User Data — Access and Use

Where Google services are connected by a user, Kautilya accesses only the information required for the functionality authorized by that user.

Google Account Information. The information accessed may include the user's name, email address, Google account ID, basic profile information, and OAuth authorization information. This information is used to authenticate the user, create and maintain the Kautilya account, associate the Google account with the Kautilya account, and maintain the authorized Google connection.

Google Calendar Information. Where Calendar access is authorized, Kautilya may access calendar IDs, calendar metadata, and event information such as event title, date, time, description, and location. This information is used to display relevant calendar information within Kautilya and to provide two-way synchronization between Google Calendar and Kautilya, including creating, updating, or deleting calendar events where the user has authorized such actions. Kautilya writes the events it creates to a single dedicated calendar in the user's account and imports events only from the calendars the user has selected.

Google OAuth Information. OAuth authorization information and access or refresh tokens may be used to establish and maintain the authorized connection with Google services. Access tokens are refreshed server-side and held only for the duration necessary to provide the authorized functionality.

Disclosure and Use of Google User Data. Google user data is used only to provide the Google functionality requested or authorized by the user. Kautilya does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising, targeted advertising, or unrelated profiling. Where necessary to provide the authorized functionality, Google user data may be processed through the service providers described in Section 13. Such processing is limited to what is necessary for the relevant functionality.

AI and machine learning. Google Calendar data is not used to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models. Google user data is sent to an AI provider only on the user's explicit request, and our AI providers do not train on data submitted through their commercial APIs.

15. Google API Services User Data Policy — Limited Use

Kautilya's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google user data will be used only to provide or improve the user-facing features and functionality for which such data has been authorized, and will not be sold, used for advertising or targeted advertising, or used to create, train, or improve generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

Any transfer of Google user data will be limited to what is necessary to provide the authorized functionality, maintain security, comply with applicable law, or otherwise as permitted under the Google API Services User Data Policy.

You can review or revoke Kautilya's access to your Google data at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
